completed her PhD in English at the University of Iowa in May 2026. Her dissertation project, “The Species of Surrealism,” surveys surrealist women whose multi-media craft offers progressive models of human and nonhuman species equality. Her scholarship focuses on the role of women in modernist culture and explores representations of the natural world in literature and visual art.

Tove recently published an article titled “Imaginary Entomology: The In(k)sect-Blots of Gisèle Prassinos.”

Tove’s scholarship on modernism, visual culture, and the environment has appeared in journals such as Feminist Modernist Studies, Interdisciplinary Literary Studies, and the Iowa Journal of Cultural Studies.
